๐ Sinopsis
Setelah eksperimen alkimia yang mengerikan di rumah keluarga Elric gagal, dua bersaudara Edward dan Alphonse terjebak dalam realitas baru yang sangat buruk. Mengabaikan prinsip alkimia yang melarang transmutasi manusia, kedua bocah itu mencoba menghidupkan kembali ibu mereka yang baru saja meninggal. Namun, mereka malah mengalami kehilangan pribadi yang sangat kejam: tubuh Alphonse hancur, sedangkan Edward kehilangan satu kaki dan kemudian mengorbankan satu lengan untuk menjaga jiwa Alphonse tetap berada di dunia nyata dengan mengikatnya ke dalam setelan zirah yang besar. Kedua bersaudara itu diselamatkan oleh tetangga mereka, Pinako Rockbell, dan cucunya, Winry. Winry, yang dikenal sebagai prodigy rekayasa biomekanik, menciptakan anggota tubuh palsu untuk Edward dengan menggunakan "automail", sebuah logam yang kuat dan fleksibel yang digunakan dalam robot dan zirah tempur. Setelah bertahun-tahun berlatih, kedua bersaudara Elric itu berangkat dalam sebuah misi untuk memulihkan tubuh mereka dengan mencari Batu Filsuf - sebuah permata yang sangat kuat yang memungkinkan seorang alkimia untuk mengabaikan hukum tradisional Pertukaran Setara.
